it is cheap the bridge as compared to the local lanang bridge
how come? Penang bridge is 10times longer than our lanang bridge. Then how come our toll is much higher than them?

wow! it is really long
Here are two of the many bridges in Osaka City, Japan:

Wow did you shoot it from a helicopter? I think I am bored with Penang Bridge coz I was involved with the civil construction of this project. I love the San Mateo bridge in SF.

Actually, I don’t quite like the design of the bridge. But still proud we have one of the longest bridge in the world, though not half as long as the Donghai bridge in China! Have a great weekend, Victor! : )
ya, we still proud that we have one of the longest bridge in the world. i never heard about Donghai bridge b4.. nvm. i will search it in google later. thanks for the info!!

ALIGATO AHBEE!!

Thousands use the bridge daily - l’m sure they’ve made millions from the toll collected since the bridge first opened, but terrible jams during peak hours and if there’s an accident or a car breaks down, you’ll be stuck there forever!!!
yeah.. they earn so much from that bridge. STP, build another bridge in Penang and collect the toll free.. You gonna become rich lor.. You seem like you know penang very well hoh..
February 8th, 2009 at 8:15 am
You mean to say it isn’t the longest. I boggle.
ya, it isnt the longest. but it’s on the world longest bridge list..
February 8th, 2009 at 8:16 am
Wow that’s an amazing bridge!
haha.. yeah. I love the design of the bridge too!!
February 8th, 2009 at 9:00 am
It’s also the most congested bridge during a peak hour..LOL!!!
I never knew that. I think they need an additional bridge in order to solve this problem.
February 8th, 2009 at 9:42 am
That’s a frighteningly long bridge! I would not want to cross it at peak hours!!!
i never cross the penang bridge before. that’s why i don’t know the condition of the penang bridge. wish to experience it one day.. hahaha
February 8th, 2009 at 5:03 pm
HAHA… I guess, taking the ferry will be better. Especially if you want to take photos of the bridge rather than getting stuck in the jam.
That’s a good idea. where can i get the ferry????
February 9th, 2009 at 1:36 am
suituapui is correct - one breakdown there and you’re trapped in a jam for hours! So long bridge also no use! : )
lols. the best way is to buy a boat!!! No TOLL!! No Traffic!!
February 9th, 2009 at 2:12 am
Aaron C: If there’s a jam at the bridge, the jam at the ferry jetty will be miles long and it will be hours before you can get across. Imagine all those cars idling, the fumes polluting the environment. Should not go to the island, everything mainland also have and cheaper even, unless working there and staying mainland for the more affordable standard of living!
I never been to mainland before, just the island only. Wow, i miss the food so much ler.. no wonder they will called it FOOD PARADISE!!
February 9th, 2009 at 8:26 am
Well, if you are cheap like me i guna dua kaki one. So definitely no jam gua. HAHA.
haha.. you are sure you going to do that ?? 13.5 km, estimate 4km per hour lar, you need 3 hours to cross the bridge..
February 9th, 2009 at 11:10 am
I did! My friend lives on the mainland - BM, and because of the jam, l had to walk the rest of the way to the jetty! Then l had to pay to use the ferry, can’t remember how much. Then when l arrived on the island, l walked all the way to my hotel on Penang Road. I refused to let the cutthroat taxi drivers cheat me of my money - RM10 to go anywhere within the small city centre! By the time l got to the hotel, l was so tired and so drenched in sweat that l looked like a mad man!!! All because it was peak hour and the bridge was jammed!
Huh! gosh! i can’t stand that kind of life. now i know why Sarawak is still the best choice for everyone!!
February 9th, 2009 at 2:17 pm
That’s a crazy long bridge!!
yeah.. 13.5km!!
February 9th, 2009 at 8:24 pm
Victor, l go Penang quite often as my daughter is studying in Sg Petani. Have to cross the bridge and the flight from KL arrives 4.30pm - peak hour! @*%
