From Flood on 12-01-2009

Sibu has been raining and raining since Friday until now for non-stop. The non-stop rainfall has caused the flood again. *sigh* The weather forecast said that the rain will be continuing until this coming Wednesday. T_T Here are some pictures that i took few minutes ago.

Wow, almost every year kena flood. Every household in Sibu should keep one rubber inflatable boat at home, in case of emergency like this.

All over Sarawak. yeah, actually government should provide free rubber boat for all the resident in Sarawak. hahaha

  2. mrcoolku Says:

Wow Wow, hope that the flood will retreat when i go back next week. HUHU…

  4. foongpc Says:

So sorry to read about this flood. So is your house affected? Over here in KL, we are afraid of flash flood. This kind of flood comes without warning, and it happens when there is a sudden very heavy rain. I don’t want to be caught in a traffic jam during flash flood - it sucks!

Luckily my house didn’t affect by the flood. I always late for work when there is a flood. Hate traffic jam.

  5. suituapui Says:

Your house also flooded? Lucky thing no rain today…so hope tonite not as bad as last nite!!! A few inches more, enter my house liao!

Nope, my house didnt affect by the flood. I don’t want to use Sampam to work.. Today flood is getting better than yesterday. but im not sure later.. hmm..

  15. suituapui Says:

What I hate about floods is all the busybodies driving around to “see the water” and gloat at others’ misfortune…sending waves of water into the houses!!!

yeah yeah.. I agreed with you STP. If i got a car which is high enough, maybe i will do that too.. hahaa

  16. goolooloo Says:

its sad to see the flood in sibu worsen. hopefully the condition will turn better soon.

  17. willchua Says:

    No problem Will.. Thankss..

  18. Stanley Carter Says:

STP: got such ppl meh? I think they’re just trying to drive home (or out) only ler… I mean, who would try and be a busybody in a car on a flooded driveway anyway?

Stanley: Those who never see any flood b4 in their life. Lols.

  19. James Wong Says:

Victor, can you arrange CNY gathering for us bloggers? Invite more ppl - see where to makan , then charge per head accordingly. xD

  21. Bengbeng Says:

James suggestion sounds a great idea.

Yeah.. I want to meet all the blogger too!!

  22. suituapui Says:

Don’t worry, stanleycarter, not you! Those with huge vehicles…very high and safe from the flood waters. This time, not too bad…but 1993….I put all my tables, sofa and chairs standing on top of biscuit tins above the water…and those vehicles went in and out and because of the waves, the furniture would sway….and would fall over unless we stood by to hold them! That’s why that time when the water entered the house…most of my things were ok! Hahahahahaha!!!!

I thought Auyong rd, Cherry rd, Ling han Sui, and Kim Tak areas are quite save from flood. STP, next time u should make a road sign indicate that no cars are allowed to enter this road.. hahaha..

  23. xiao wei Says:

    OMG, cbu hv terrible flood..

i m now at miri n i didnt notice dis new..

U so lucky.. the day u went to Miri, Sibu got flooded..

  24. sarawakiana Says:

    Thanks for the photos!!

At least we see some kind search and rescue team going around to help.

It is just such a sad and pitiful state of life - flood every year -move things around the house or evacuate - loss of property and money - no one complains - no one can see - some statements from the authorities -then no more flood - everything forgotten - then flood again - the circle goes round and round year in year out…..

You’re welcome. Ya, but just Office hours only.. -_- You’re right, that’s what they called Malaysian. Just complaining when there is a flood and when the water gone, people stop complaining.

  25. dong ho Says:

i wish that flood wont get worst there. here in the philippines there’s one town that’s also flooded due to continuous rains. but not here in manila.

In my hometown, we get used to the flood already. It comes every end of the years.

  26. Dennis Chieng Says:
