I went to Sarikei with Bengbeng yesterday evening for the Pesta Nanas Festival. There is no more ferry queue since Nyelong Bridge had completed and it’s just an hour drive from Sibu.
Sarikei has always been known as its pineapple. It is an annual event which is organized to promote the town of Sarikei as an agricultural growth and distribution centre of Sarawak.
There are stalls selling traditional Malay food and popular local drinks. This stall owner was so generous, she gave us free drinks after we took some pictures of her stall. ^_^
Beside food and drinks, there are stalls selling clothes, handicrafts, plants, and etc.
This lady was so kind to agree to take picture with me and borrow me her Iban traditional clothes.
I saw this interesting stall that selling devil horns.
There is a shuffle dance competition at night
and also Malay Karaoke Singing Competition.
